Cassie L. Harris is a graduate of The University of MS (B.A. Chemistry, 2007), MS State
University (B. S. Medical Technology, 2010), and Tulane University (Master of Public Health, 2022).  Cassie is a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with 13 years of experience. Asan MLS Cassie helps detect, monitor, and provide solutions for patient health concerns through laboratory testing, as 70 percent of medical decisions are based on lab results. She determines specimen integrity, performs and records results in a timely manner, communicates results to patient providers and keeps laboratory instrumentation functional and in accordance with manufacturer and laboratory policy. 

Cassie is also the creator of Superheroes Wear Lab Coats which is a fun and interactive presentation that exposes school aged youth to the career of Medical Laboratory Science. Students learn about the role of Medical Laboratory Science in healthcare, participate in a hands-on lesson about the circulatory system and learn the importance of hand hygiene. Cassie enjoys working with healthcare providers to help patients reach their goals of health, safety, and quality of life through laboratory testing. In her leisure, Cassie likes to craft and volunteer in her community.
